The Ancestor altar was first created by Nancy Redden and has become a tradition for our festival.
This is a place where you can place images and objects to remember your loved ones who have passed from this mortal life. It is a space for us all to stop and remember all our honored Ancestors in love and gratitude.
There is usually a largeĀ cloth placed on the ground and situated among the redwoods just to the west along the path from the main lodge to the bridge that leads across the stream that is called Little North Fork of the Big River. Often you will find a gong or a bell, so that you can take a moment along your way to stop and ring the bell in their honor.
